Parliament chamber is under maintenance, according to Parliament Clerk Kala Aufa.
When asked to confirm whether the maintenance project is true, Mr Aufa confirmed: “We are working on the (Parliament) Chamber system.”
Clerk Aufa told PNG SUN that the project, which was tendered, approved and funded last year, would take ‘around 2 (two) months minimum’ to complete. Parliament will sit again on Tuesday 28th, May 2024.
During the Parliamentary meeting this month before its adjournment which attracted wider critics, a couple of members (including Wapenamanda MP Mikki Kaeok) raised concerns about their malfunctioning ear-piece.
When the author continued asking him on Whatsapp to disclose funds allocated for the maintenance work, he did not respond.
