RESUBMIT YOUR VONC MOTION TOMORROW AT 10AM: SPEAKER POMAT

National Parliament Speaker, Job Pomat this afternoon called on the members of the Parliamentary Opposition to resubmit their Vote-of-No-Confidence (VONC) motion properly tomorrow at 10am.

He told Parliament in Tok Pisin that his office should receive the VONC Motion tomorrow (Wednesday) by 10am to process it as required by the Constitution and the Parliamentary Standing Orders.

He highlighted that the motion was also in the interest of the people of this nation.

“The motion is vetted by members of the Private Business Committee at 12:00 o’clock, and if everything is in order, we will put it on the Notice Paper on Thursday and inform the public about it. Parliament will be adjourned for seven days before a vote is taken on the motion of VONC against the Prime Minister,’ Speaker Pomat stated in Tok Pisin. 

Speaker Pomat also advised if it fair to have Gulf Provincial member, Sir Chris Haiveta, who has now sided with the Opposition, remained as the member of the PBC.

He added that Haiveta must not be removed by the Committee this time.

Hela Provincial member, Philip Undialu (Chairman), Southern Highlands member William Powi (D/Chairman), Manus Provincial member, Charlie Benjamin, Gulf’s Chris Haiveta and Western Province’s Toboi Yoto.
